“Canada’s Finest Jazz Vocalist” – an expat living in Bangkok for some years, of considerable musical repute back in his homeland. Part owner of http://www.bakedinbangkok.com and all-round fine fellow. Disappeared to New Zealand in early 2015 to do cooking shows.
“The Polyglot” – a Brit expat living in Bangkok whose focus is on learning the Thai language and understanding Thai culture. Plus strives (yet fails) daily to attain the gymnastic “Iron Cross”. The kind of conversationalist anyone would want at a social gathering
“Dad” – a man in his seventh decade now happily living in Indonesia. Still a “bule”, but nonetheless ingratiated into the ways of all things Java
“The Handmaiden” – a lady hailing from Canada via way of Ethiopia who has hobnobbed with royalty and does know the Dance of a number of Veils
The Professor” – a lady with a slew of qualifications after her name, wife of Canada’s Finest Jazz Vocalist, and knows everything there is to know about human trafficking. Also disappeared to New Zealand recently.
“The Russet Fan” – another Canadian known for her appreciation of the russet-haired opposite gender
“Les Quebecois” – a pair of diplomats who used to live two floors above us but have now gone off to Singapore. One’s not even Quebecois, but true Parisian. Both claim they will never read my blog. I know they lie
“Nana” – Isla’s beloved grandmother
“Joshua” – our ‘nearly 2yr old’ son, born in Bangkok, yet, curiously, not a Thai
“Nopodol” – an Aussie ex-pat, extreme extrovert with a thing for OBGYNs. Wife of B.O.B
“B.O.B” – husband of above ‘Nopodol’ and pretty much ran “The Four Seasons, Bangkok” till he legged it to Hawaii to run it over there. Husband of “Nopodol.” Extreme introvert. 9 ft tall.
